I had a very hard time trying to find a song for The Great Gatsby; however, the song I found reminded me of Gatsby. Its called The Scientist by Coldplay. Certain parts of the lyrics are what caught my attention. It reminded me of Gatsby and how he is in love with Daisy and just HAS to tell her and won't stop until he has her.
One part of the lyrics says, "You don't know how lovely you are. I had to find you, tell you I need you." Again, he truely wouldn't stop until he told Daisy the truth, even if it meant saying so right in front of Daisy's husband, Tom.
Another part says, "but tell me you love me, come back and haunt me." Gatsby was wanting for Daisy to so desperately tell him that she loves him, and she does. But then also goes and says she loveds Tom too.
Lastly, it also says, "I'm going back to the start." Gatsby always thought that he could live in the past, meaning when him and Daisy were together and in love before Tom, and that is what this is saying, that it is better to go back to before when things were better.

inaugural address
Inaugural Address
January 20, 2021
To start off I would like to thank the previous president…uhh…whoever he or she was.
And I’d like to thank everyone who voted for me!
I am so proud of myself for winning, with everyone seeing me on t.v.
So I’m going to talk about all the problems we have that I intend to fix.
Like have you seen the clothes those girls on Jersey Shore wear; honestly they need a good change. No one should be going out looking all sloppy like that. I mean I get the short clothes, ‘cause duh…that’s what’s in style! But her hair…like be for real.
Oh and another thing, like PDA. Nobody wants to see you making out in public. So obviously, I’m going to do something about it, whether the public likes it or not because guess what…I’m president now!
And there are so many more things wrong that I could talk about, but I’m not going to because I don’t want to and I have a hair appointment to get to! So yeah…thanks for making me president.
Deuces.

Declaration of Independence...from AP COMPOSITION!!!
In AP Composition class, February 9, 2012,
THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENCE FROM THIS CLASS
When in the course of preparing for college, it becomes necessary at times, for one to take harder AP classes, which in turn provide more than the expected amount of work, and to become studious people for which class learning takes place, including AP Composition.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all students are created equal, and that they are endowed by with certain unalienable rights, that among these are learning and interested in materials we learn. The way this quarter’s curriculum is structured has taken away an aspect for the students to enjoy what they are required to read, lessening the impact of the experience.
To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.
He has forced us to read about God, whether we know much about the subject at hand or not.
He has changed the whole subject matter, in contrast with the first half of class, causing frustration and un-enjoyment among some students.
He has somewhat put a historical spin on the class, when in fact, this is an English class.
We, therefore, the students of Mr. Kunkle’s third block AP Composition class, assembled together, discussing the issue at hand, and DO, in the name and by the authority of each member, PUBLISH and DECLARE, that the students of this AP class are, and of right, ought to be free and independent from having to do ridiculous readings that we have no interest in or that make sense to us in the class.

Transcendentalism Blog Activity
To say whether you are a transcendentalist or not can be hard, especially for me, because there are things that the transcendentalists believed in that I also do and some that I do not. For example, Emerson talks about about how we must rely on ourselves instead of society. He says, "Society everywhere is in conspiracy against the manhood of every one of its members....Self-reliance is its aversion." I for one think that is very true. Society can hold us back from becoming better as a person.
What I do not agree with is what Emerson says about everyone having good in them. I think most people are good, but not everyone. That is why I agree with what Nathaniel Hawthorne said in The Minister's Black Veil. He had said, "...on eery visage a Black Veil!" I agree with Hawthorne when he says that meaning everyone has something they are trying to hide from everyone else. I feel this is more true than anything I read in either Emerson's or Fuller's text. For that reason, I do not think that I am able to call myself a transcendentalist.

Maps-Is this a history or english class....
America Septentrionalis
1. What I first noticed in this map is that there are animals drawn on certain areas. These are drawn in where the Europeans believe one would encounter them. There seem to be lines drawn in for rivers, as well as mountains, where they believed them to be. On the far left, California is separated from the rest of the land. The writing is also in Latin, which makes it harder to read the map. In the upper left corner, the words mean Northern America. The people represented are what the Europeans believed the Native Americans to look like.
2. The map tells which animals one might encounter if he or she traveled across the land. The east coast area is more known because that is where the Europeans first settled, and then moved westward learning more. During this time, the west was a large unknown area. This map shows that they value the natural resources including animals and water. The animals are important to their survival.
3. Babb says, “A small band of settlers—male and female, gentry and yeomen, religious and secular—stand gathered holding guns and javelins, foregrounded against a large landmass dotted with men in scouts’ garb, deer, foxes, dogs, bears, and women and men in bearskins.” This relates to my map because there are a lot of wild animals thrown into the background of the map, placed around the country. Also, with the people in the upper left-hand corner, they are dressed as what she describes.
